1. About these terms

These terms apply to the Tauphy Chrome extension, its optional History sync service, and this website (together, “Tauphy”). Tauphy (formerly called Dropit) is an independent project operated by Sandor Abad, Santiago, Chile (“we”, “us”). By installing or using Tauphy, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it. How we handle data is explained in our Privacy policy.

2. What Tauphy does

Tauphy shows a pop-up right before you pay for some clothing purchases online (for example when you click “Place order” or “Pay now”, or reach a checkout page; not when you add items to your bag) and an illustration of what that money could grow to if invested. Detection is automatic and imperfect: Tauphy may miss some purchases or appear where it isn’t needed. Tauphy never completes, cancels or changes an order on its own; you always decide whether to continue.

3. Not financial advice

The “could grow to” figures are simple illustrations based on a fixed yearly rate and number of years (by default 7% per year for 10 years). They are not a prediction, a promise of returns, or a recommendation to buy, sell or invest in anything. Real investments can lose value. Tauphy is not a financial advisor. For decisions about your money, consider speaking to a qualified professional.

3a. The demo portfolio is a simulation

The dashboard at tauphy.com/app shows a demo portfolio. It is a simulation for illustration only:

• No real money is deposited, invested, held, switched or transferred. “Deposits” are the prices of purchases you chose not to make; “transfers out” and “switches” only change numbers in the simulation.
• The demo funds (for example “Demo S&P 500 Index”) are fictional. They are not real securities, are not linked to any real fund or index provider, and cannot be bought through Tauphy.
• Their prices and returns are generated from assumed rates and simulated ups and downs. Simulated performance does not predict real results, and real investments can lose value.
• Tauphy is not a bank, broker, investment adviser or payment service, and nothing on the dashboard is an offer or a recommendation. We may change, reset or remove the demo at any time.

4. Your optional account

• You don’t need an account to use Tauphy. An account is only needed for History sync.
• You sign in with your email address and a one-time code. Use an email address you control, and keep access to it secure: anyone who can read your email can sign in to your account.
• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• You can use the same account on the website dashboard. You can sign out, export your data, or delete your account at any time from the extension or the dashboard, as described in the Privacy policy.

5. Acceptable use

Please use Tauphy only for its intended, personal purpose. You agree not to:

• Send automated, fake or excessive requests to the Tauphy service, or try to get around its rate limits.
• Access or try to access another person’s account or data.
• Probe, attack, overload or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.
• Use Tauphy for anything unlawful, or in a way that infringes other people’s rights.

6. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Tauphy at any time by uninstalling it, and delete your History sync data from the extension first if you want it removed from our server. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or threatens the security of the service. We may also change, pause or discontinue History sync or Tauphy itself. If we discontinue History sync, we will try to give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your data first. Inactive accounts are deleted as described in the Privacy policy.

7. Ownership

Tauphy’s code, name and design belong to us. You may use the extension for your own personal, non-commercial use. Your data is yours; we use it only as described in the Privacy policy.

8. No warranty

Tauphy is free and provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don’t guarantee that it will detect every purchase, work on every store, be available without interruption, or be free of errors.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for purchases you make or don’t make, or investment decisions you take, while using Tauphy. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law, including under Chile’s consumer protection law (Law 19.496).

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the effective date above, and if a change is significant we will tell you in the extension or by email to account holders. If you keep using Tauphy after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Chilean law. Any dispute arising from them or from your use of Tauphy will be submitted to the competent courts of Chile, without prejudice to any mandatory rights you have to bring a claim where you live.
